Dr. Fields is past chair and longest serving member of the current CEP Board of Directors. He is also a member of the clinical faculty at UC Irvine and recently became core faculty at the new EM residency program at Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

He was the founding chair of the California EM Advocacy Fund and more recently of the national EM Action Fund. He has served in a variety of other leadership positions in state and national ACEP, reviews health policy for three peer journals, and was appointed to the Steering Committee on Admissions and Readmissions of the National Quality Forum. Dr. Fields is a graduate of the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara, the Keck School of Medicine at USC, and EM residency training at Harbor/UCLA.
