Thomas Sugarman, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, is Secretary-Treasurer of the Alameda Contra Costa Medical Association, Co-Chair of the East Bay Safe Prescribing Coalition and a Past-President of the California chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians.  He is the Senior Director of Government Affairs for CEP America. He holds a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a medical degree from University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Sugarman has been practicing emergency medicine with CEP America since 2001 and was chosen by the Sutter Delta Medical Center emergency department as Doctor of the Year in 2005.
