Courtenay Kohlman, RN, BSN


Courtenay Kohlman, RN, BSN, is a practice management consultant at MedAmerica. She has 11 years of nursing experience in several settings, including acute care, HIV/AIDS care and palliative care. She has worked in many roles including charge RN, nursing preceptor and more recently case management. As a case manager, she focused on utilization review and patient transitions along the Acute Care Continuum. She serves as a liaison between emergency services, hospitalists, nursing, hospital administration and community resources. She builds processes and programs at client hospitals to facilitate post-acute care follow-up for patients, both with and without insurance. She has facilitated structured multi-disciplinary rounds, improved hospitalist efficiencies and created standardized processes for arranging post-acute follow-up for uninsured patients.
