One of the nation’s largest multi-specialty providers of acute care management and staffing solutions, CEP America
, today announced its partnership to provide clinical anesthesia services for O’Connor Hospital
, a 358-bed acute-care community hospital in San Jose, California, and a part of the non-profit Verity Health System
With this new partnership, CEP America now serves all six California-based Verity Health hospitals through its various practice lines. This is the fifth program launched for its Anesthesia program since CEP America added the specialty and increased its multi-specialty focus in 2014.
“The distinguished anesthesiologists of Coast Anesthesia Medical Group, which formerly served O’Connor Hospital, will continue to care for O’Connor patients,” said Peter Nosé, MD, Director of Operations, Anesthesia at CEP America. “These doctors have been strong supporters of the local community for over 30 years and have important ties to both Stanford University and the University of California, San Francisco. We are pleased that they are joining CEP America and we welcome them to our team.”
CEP America partners with hospitals and facilities to staff and manage clinical departments across the acute care continuum, including anesthesia, urgent, emergency, inpatient and post-acute care settings. The democratic partnership model, where all physicians are owners and partners, has empowered physicians to enhance transitions of care for patients across patient populations and geographic regions.
"Our group has been looking for a partner that would allow us to adapt to the rapidly changing healthcare environment,” said Christine Doyle, MD, President of Coast Anesthesia Medical Group. “We believe coordination, integration and breaking down the walls that exist in hospitals today are key to better and more efficient patient care. We know that partnering with CEP America will benefit our patients and our community, just as it has already energized and inspired our physicians.”
CEP America is owned by its physicians; there are no employed physicians, independent contractors or super-owners within CEP America. The partnership is governed by its physicians through a democratically elected Board of Directors. Anesthesiologists joining CEP America will become partners in the organization, with a defined partnership track that includes ownership, democratic participation and profit distribution.
