St. Francis Medical Center Partners with CEP America to Manage Emergency Department

7/1/2015

Emeryville, Calif. – Today, St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC) in Lynwood, Calif. announced its partnership with CEP America, which will provide physician management and staffing for the hospital’s Emergency Department (ED), effective July 1, 2015.  The physician group previously serving SFMC, Front Line Emergency Care Specialists, recently joined CEP America with the goal for St. Francis to be a leader in the delivery of safe, quality, emergency care focused on the patient at the center of its culture of care.   As a result, the emergency physicians who have been practicing at SFMC and have built a strong connection to the community will continue to be the physician providers at the medical center.

CEP America, one of the nation’s largest providers of acute care management solutions, has a history of developing processes and initiatives to facilitate the continuum of care across hospital departments and improve the overall patient experience.

“As we looked to improve care in our Emergency Department, CEP America was the logical choice to build upon our desire to provide outstanding patient care to every person seeking treatment here,” said Gerald T. Kozai, Pharm.D, President/CEO, St. Francis Medical Center.  “Working together, we will be able to take our delivery of high quality patient care to the next level.”

A leader in acute care services management, CEP America’s client hospitals frequently report an average time-to-provider that is significantly lower than the national average.  The organization has also set a target for all their ED partners to improve a patient’s time to disposition, thereby reducing the amount of time a patient spends in the ED.
