7/4/2013

CEP America wishes to congratulate Desmond Carson, MD, for being recognized as a Hometown Hero by the Bay Area New Group – East Bay and Comcast. Since 1998, Dr. Carson has worked in the emergency department (ED) at Doctor’s Medical Center in San Pablo, California, a community he grew up in and returned to after completing medical school.

Beyond his work in the ED, Dr. Carson and his CEP America team members provide free stroke and heart attack prevention clinics, community outreach and health education. He also has an active role in mentoring Richmond High School students interested in medicine and coaching the Richmond Steelers, a youth football team.

In April, Dr. Carson was honored with the “Richmond Excellence Serving our Community Award,” granted by Richmond and the Richmond Community Foundation, which recognized his work in the community.

The Bay Area New Group – East Bay and Comcast Hometown Hero distinction honors people in the Bay Area who have had a significant impact on their community.

Congratulations Dr. Carson!
