How to Become a Scribe

CEP America is always looking to hire energetic individuals with an interest in the healthcare field.
Potential scribe candidates must also possess the following qualities:
  • Ability to devote 1 year or more to the position
  • Professional demeanor
  • Strong writing skills
  • Quick and accurate typing speed
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability to handle a high pressure environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Some exposure to anatomy or physiology and preferably medical terminology

Once hired, new scribes receive extensive training to prepare them for their role in the emergency department, inpatient unit, or outpatient setting. The curriculum includes:
  • Classroom education covering anatomy, electronic medical records, terminology, and more
  • One-on-one shifts on the floor with a scribe trainer
  • Quizzes, tests, and evaluations throughout training
  • Online reference materials and continuing education
