PVHMC Urgent Care Curriculum


Urgent Care Fellows train under the supervision of CEP America Partners and medical staff at Pomona Valley Medical Hospital. In addition to clinical rotations, the Fellowship includes dedicated teaching in a wide range of specialties that represent the most common Urgent Care issues.
 
The Fellowship Program curriculum includes:
 
On-site rotations
  • ENT                                              1 week
  • Radiology                                      1 week
  • Orthopedic                                   2 weeks
  • ER                                                8 weeks
  • Urgent Care                                 30 weeks 
Off-site rotations
  • Ophthalmology                              1 week
  • Dental                                           1 week
  • Dermatology                                 2 weeks  
Other
  • Practice Management                      1 week – UCAOA course material
  • CME Conferences                          2 weeks
  • Vacation                                        3 weeks 
Total                                               52 weeks
 
In addition, Fellows have the opportunity to participate in other training experiences including:
  • Suture training seminar
  • Ultrasound course
  • Pain management course
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • Splinting/casting seminar
  • Research project 
Evaluations include:
  • Chart review, case reports, procedure log
  • Rotation evaluations
  • Fellowship Director evaluation
  • Observation/Precepting
  • Research project
