About the Pomona Valley Hospital Urgent Care Fellowship

Each year, the Pomona Valley Hospital Urgent Care Fellowship gives graduates of an accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Residency program the advanced training they need to succeed in the growing specialty of Urgent Care.  Over the course of this 12-month training program, Fellows will focus on managing acute illness and injury in an Urgent Care setting, with an emphasis on orthopedics, radiology, trauma care, occupational medicine, and adult and pediatric emergencies.

One to two Fellows are selected for the Pomona Valley Hospital Urgent Care Fellowship each year. In addition to receiving a salary, Fellows are eligible to receive comprehensive benefits including health insurance and paid time off. During the course of the one-year program Fellows are supported in securing future employment.

The Pomona Valley Hospital Urgent Care Fellowship is a collaboration between CEP America, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, the Family Medicine Residency Program, the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Urgent Care Association of America.

Didactic Methods and Training

The Urgent Care Fellowship is designed to introduce Fellows to the widest range of patient symptoms and conditions possible through clinical rotations, didactic methods, research and CME conference experiences, so they can develop a systematic approach to managing Urgent Care patients.
