Healthcare Benefits

We provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to full- and part-time employees, their eligible dependents, and/or their domestic partners. We also offer a flexible spending account that enables you to save money by setting aside pre-tax dollars to pay for anticipated health and dependent care expenses.

Each medical insurance plan comes with a $50,000 life insurance policy. Full-time employees also receive Long Term Disability insurance at no additional cost.


We are proud to offer one of the most competitive 401(k) plans in the industry. MedAmerica provides a guaranteed match of $1.20 per $1.00 of the first 6% of the employee’s salary deferral contribution with 100% immediate vesting when the match is deposited. Our plan, which includes a discretionary profit sharing contribution, has been recognized by Brightscope as one of the highest ranked 401k plans in the Bay Area.

Student Loan Repayment Program

In partnership with Darian Rowayton Bank, MedAmerica is thrilled to provide a discounted option of refinancing your high-interest student loans. With no application cost or prepayment penalties, this benefit is especially valuable to those who have a student loan rate above four and a half percent and can help you lower your overall monthly payment. Federal, private, undergraduate, and graduate school loans are eligible.

Commuter Programs

Our commuter check and park-it programs allow you to use pre-tax dollars to pay for commuting expenses –whether via mass transit or parking in our building’s attached enclosed garage. 

Paid Time Off

MedAmerica employees accrue three weeks of vacation per year upon hire. In addition to your vacation time, full-time and part-time employees are eligible for up to an additional 2 weeks of paid Holidays, including your personal birthday. Sick hours accrue at a rate of two weeks per year.

In addition, MedAmerica offers various leave programs for employees who need to be away from work due to medical, legally required, or personal reasons.

Wellness Programs

We have a strong commitment to health and well-being across the organization. Our all-volunteer Wellness Committee runs ongoing activities and educational programs throughout the year, culminating in our annual full-day Wellness Fair. Additional wellness benefits include free flu shots each fall, a free on-site gym, and peer groups who gather for lunchtime walks, compete in stair walking, or take part in other exercise programs that meet each individual’s fitness goals.

Professional Development

We support and encourage your professional development and offer education reimbursement programs designed to support your career growth.
