About Kaweah Delta Medical Center
In 2015, CEP America launched its EMPA Program at Kaweah Delta Medical Center, a 581-bed, eight-campus healthcare district in Visalia, Calif. The emergency department treats more than 90,000 patients each year from Tulare, Kings and surrounding counties, making it one of the busiest emergency departments in Visalia and California.
Kaweah Delta Medical Center is a community hospital Level III Trauma Center with five residency programs, including emergency medicine. The CEP-associated outpatient facilities see 135,000 patients annually. In 2013, a newly constructed helipad began operation to facilitate transfers to and from Kaweah Delta, greatly speeding access to trauma care.
Kaweah Delta’s F.A.S.T. track process streamlines treatment by starting care in the triage area, where the medical team determines the plan of care. Lower acuity patients are seen in a treatment chair, while higher acuity patients are triaged to a bed.
