Compensation and Benefits

 
Fellows in the CEP America EMPA Fellowship at Kaweah Delta are paid an hourly rate that approximates $45,000 annually.  In addition to the education opportunities, the benefits are generous and comprehensive. They include:
  • Four weeks of paid time off  per year
  • 401(k) with 7.2% employer match and no vesting period
  • Health insurance with vision, life insurance and optional dental
    • Pre-tax savings with an Health Savings Account (HAS) or Medical Flexible Spending Account (MFSA) for out of pocket costs
    • A declination stipend (paid monthly) for not selecting a health insurance option
  • Annual CME/CEU conference and online education options plus a professional expense reimbursement benefit
  • Paid malpractice insurance
  • Memberships in the Society for Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants (SEMPA) and California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA)

There is no fee or tuition for participating in the program. However, housing is not provided, and the following out-of-pocket expenses are required for participation:
  • Tintinalli, Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide (current edition)
  • Stethoscope
  • Scrubs
