Jaime Rivas, MD, FACEP
Board Chair

Dr. Rivas is Chair of CEP America’s Board of Directors. Elected to this role in January 2011, Dr. Rivas and the Board set the strategic direction for CEP America. They provide guidance to the Officers and serve as the voice of Partners overseeing the governance of the organization. As Chair, Dr. Rivas leads the integration of hospital medicine physicians into the Partnership and maintains a steady focus on growing CEP America as an organization that will serve the next generation of Partners.

He earned a Baccalaureate in Physiology at the University of California, San Diego and attended medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he graduated with the honor of Excellence in Emergency Medicine. Since joining CEP America in 1996, he has served in numerous leadership roles including serving as ED Medical Director at Palomar Pomerado Health since 2003. Dr. Rivas was the recipient of CEP America's San Diego Regional Physician of the Year award in 2000. He has been a member of the CEP America Board of Directors since 2002, when he was elected as one of the youngest Board Members in CEP America history.
