Nurse-Provider Relations

An ED can succeed or fail based on the cohesiveness of the team, but teamwork takes commitment and trust.

CEP America is committed to fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and teamwork between all of the ED team members. At many of our sites, there is no separation between the groups, and all ED personnel view themselves as members of the ED team rather than an employee or partner of separate organizations.

Specifically, CEP America recognizes the importance of strong, interactive, and collegial nurse-physician relationships. CEP America has compiled components of this interaction into a "best practices" relationship program. Our MD-RN Program has been successfully rolled out across our emergency departments and has been proven to:

  • Improve job satisfaction for the physicians, nurses and ancillary personnel
  • Improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
  • Decrease physician, nurse, and hospital liability
  • Improve emergency department productivity and operations
  • Decrease physician stress and burnout, and increase nurse retention.

By developing multidisciplinary process committees, and empowering all members of the ED team, we have been able to significantly improve both department efficiency and service.
