CEP America is proud to announce that Drs. Jay Kaplan and Jason Ruben will be presenting lectures at the American College of Emergency Physician’s (ACEP) 2011 Scientific Assembly held in San Francisco, October 15-18.
A member of ACEP’s Board of Directors and CEP America’s Director of Service and Operational Excellence, Jay Kaplan, MD, FACEP, will be delivering this year’s Colin C. Rorrie, Jr. Lecture alongside Helen Burstin, MD, MPH, from the National Quality Forum. “The Quality Agenda” will focus on upcoming federal regulations for patient care and safety that will likely affect emergency physicians. The lecture will be held on Monday, October 17 at 1:30pm.
Jason Ruben, MD, FACEP, is the Director of CEP America’s Scribe Program. “You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth! Use of Medical Scribes in the ED” will explore how emergency physicians can better utilize scribes in the ED and how they can assist with the implementation of electronic medical records (EMR). Dr. Ruben will examine how to employ scribes, the cost, and the ongoing benefits and risks. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at 9:00am.
